where is the orignal painting of “Pharoahs horses” by john frederick herring sr located?
I have searched numerous sites and only found prints of the painting.Was it lost,stolen or in a private collection possibly?
It was sold at auction through Christie’s in 1986 for approximately $450,000. Unfortunately, I can’t find a record of who purchased it, but it doesn’t appear to be in any of the major museums which hold his other paintings, so I’m assuming it’s now in a private collection.
